THE EFFECT OF REYNOLDS NUMBER OF AIR FLOW DURING THE AIR STERILIZATION PROCESS WITH ULTRAVIOLET GERMICIDAL IRRADIATION LAMP

This case study examines the effect that Reynolds number of air flow has on population oflive pathogenic microorganisms during process sterilization using ultraviolet germicidalirradiation (UVGI) lamp in a closed air-duct. With this aim, first discussion is mathematicalmodel which regulates changes to terms percentage populationfor following live microorganisms: Escherichia coli, Mycobacterium tuberculosisand Streptococcus pneumoniae, under special condition rate and intensity UVirradiation. In conclusion, as velocity ductincreases, exposure time pathogens field UV-C irradiation decreases, theeffect germicide capabilities UVGI are reduced.Consequently, increases.
